Vegetarians and others immune to the SWINE Flu?

A friend told me she heard on the news earlier that scientists are saying vegetarian, vegans, and anyone who hasn’t consumed pork harvest in more than a year, seem to be immune to the swine flu virus. Something to do with the antibiotics the factory farms place in the pigs feed that caused the flu virus to mutate or become immune to traditional flu vaccine or something. Has anyone else heard this? regardless I’m vacant veg for sure!

I haven’t heard this. And people do not get swine flu from eating pork, so I don’t know how to feel about this. Regardless I haven’t consumed pork in about a year, so perhaps this is excellent news to me.

It has nothing to do with eating pork, you can be the veggiest vegetarian out here but if you go to mexico and get coughed on a lot…you won’t be immune.

no, this will not mean they’re immune and its just a massive rumor. here is absolutely no risk from eating pork since cooking it would kill any germs on it in the first place.

swine flu is transferred from human to human, eating less meat would mean less protein importance you will have a weaker immune system which earnings you will be more likely to get swine flu

Really, many viruses are transmitted by foods, hepatitis A, for one and the Nora virus is another. Here is an entire list of viruses that can be transmitted by eating foods. check out: http://www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/PHR/phr250/2006/15006Vir.pdf or http://www.athealth.com/consumer/disorders/hepatitisA.html

The truth is, this virus is so new that scientists just don’t know yet. They have lessened its orgins down to a factory farm in Mexico where the pigs were fed high amounts of antibiotics in their feed, that much is right, it isn’t so far fetched that certain individuals could have natural or even unnatural immunity to it. Here are hundreds of reports were certain people are immune to viruses and diseases.

no, this is just a rumor.
NO ONE is immune to the Swine Flu. It’s a new strain of flu that no one has the immunity to.

Don’t listen to those who say it can’t be apply by food, look at mad cow disease, it is apply by food…alot of viruses are as well. Check out the link in my source box, it talks about how you can get viruses and bacterias from eating the meat of sick animals, milk, eggs, even gelatin (ground up left over parts such as bones, teeth, hooves etc.) If the virus is found in the animals feces, in its bloodstream and in its muscles…ummm…that’s what you eat. Make sure you get your next pork chop rare! Don’t be frightened, it can’t hurt you right?
